Inspiration has hit!

So I found out its just really hard to do a blog about beauty products and reviews and such so I am going to start doing weekly videos with my reviews on the product that way it all just goes by a lot faster. If I do any tutorials it will be in video and in writing form because I know I like to read what to do but some people like to watch what to do. So with that in mind, I will try to start if not next week the week after. Yay!

Hair Dye!

Hey all,

So I have been wanting to make a change for a while now so I finally decided that I would dye my hair. Here's my experience with it.

The Plan :: A shade a little bit darker than my natural color with red and blonde highlights.
The Products :: Garnier Hair Color color Medium Brown I don't remember the other products I used (sorry I know, Fail!)
Results :: I like using Garnier hair color because it doesn't smell as strong chemically and it has always left my hair feeling really good. I followed the instructions and I love the way my hair turned out. The highlights pretty much failed so I wont bother mentioning them. Since I started out with blonde hair I thought the medium brown would be too dark but I actually really like it. My hair has a tendency to put a rid tint no matter what its died so I ended up with an auburn brown that I love.
I know its sideways, but my phone wouldn't rotate it and I am too lazy to do it on my computer.

Anyways, that's the color. I love it. So that's all that really matters. Yay for a successful dye!

St. Patrick's Day Nails

Hello all!

This is my first official nail polish post! WHOO! I am a huge OPI Nail Lacquer addict (it is the only brand I use) and I found this tutorial through Pinterest and it looked so neat I thought I would give it a try. The tutorial is for Water Marble Nails and I have to say I am super pleased with the results. Here is the link to the original tutorial.

The Finished Product
What You Need ::
~:~ At least three different shades of nail polish ranging from light to dark.
~:~ A small glass bowl or cup.
~:~ Toothpicks.
~:~ A paper towel
~:~ Vaseline or tape (optional)
Everything you need

How to Do it:
~:~ Fill the small bowl or cup with water, it should be room temp.
 ~:~ Drop the first shade of nail polish in, the lightest shade is best to start with, I did four to five drops of the lightest shade. Then two to three of the middle shade and finally one to two of the darkest shade.
 ~:~ Run a toothpick through the nail polish in the cup until you get a design you like. (Only use one toothpick per design, the nail polish tends to stick to the end and it end up out of the cup and on the toothpick before you can put it on your nails if you use the same toothpick multiple times.)

~:~ Dip your nail in as vertically as possible (not straight down) and sit for a minute, then pull it out and lie your fingers down on the paper towel. (I have found that the mix works for one nail at a time, if you use it a second time without re-filling with more polish it the design will be lighter.
~:~ Once all your nails are done just sit and let them dry. Applying Vaseline to the skin around the nail is supposed to help keep the polish from getting on your skin. I don't know how well it works because I didn't have any to use. Once the nail polish dried completely I let my hands sit under warm running water and used soap to peel the dried polish off my skin.

Nail Colors ::
OPI :: Did It On 'Em

OPI :: Jade Is The New Black

OPI :: Cuckoo For This Color

Later ::
~:~ After my nails had completely dried I decided I wanted to add some gold coloring to them so I painted the tips with a gold sparkle. The Color is Below.
OPI :: Glow Up Already!
Tips and Tricks ::
~:~ Nail Polish takes a long time to dry, just because the top coat feels dry it isn't necessarily. The nail polish underneath it could still be tacky and if you hit your nails it is likely they will be messed up. Therefore I give myself a good three hours set aside to do my nails. At least an hour and a half of that is just letting the polish dry so I can be extra sure before I start washing off the excess around my skin.
~:~ Don't get discouraged if it takes a couple of times to get right. This was my first time doing the marbled nails and while I am happy with the result its not perfect. I have bubbles and all sorts of imperfections in the surface of the polish. With practice I am sure it will get easier, and I am defiantly going to practice.

Well there you have it. That is everything I can think of for St. Patrick's Day nails, my experiences and tips for you if you wish to try and duplicate the process yourself. I give credit for this to Hey, Nice Nails! because they had the original tutorial I used, but the tips and tricks and opinions expressed in this post are mine. Thanks for taking the time to read and let me know how your nails turn out, if you have any additional tips and what did or did not work for you. Oh, and a happy St. Patrick's Day everyone, make sure to wear your green!

Corset update

So I went into lovers today and had them help me tighten the corset and I have to say that sadly I will need to exchange it for one size smaller. My bust size is too small for the one I ordered and even when it is tightened all the way at the top there is still room to move and that's just now how a corset should look. So wednesday I have to exchange it for another one. I also, today, went into the local piercing shop and asked some questions and I think it cemented the fact that I want to get my nose done first, that will keep me from being unable to work out at least and I am really getting in gear work out wise. If I got the belly one, as much as I want it, it will hinder me. I am not completely against the the belly button piercing because I still really want it, but I just don't know right now, I will have to wait and see.

Tattoos and Piercings

So I am the type of chick that loves tattoos and piercings as long as they remain tasteful. I have no tattoos at the moment, but I have several planned for later down the road. I know I want one on my left inner wrist, one on my lower right stomach area, and one on the left shoulder-blade going down my back. The one on my waist I am waiting for after I have kids to do because I don't want it to stretch and warp during pregnancy. The one going down my back is going to be a sort of tribute to my family, like a family tree or something so that also needs to wait until after I have kids. About the only one I could get right now would be the one on my wrist but I am chicken and I know that would hurt like really bad. For piercings I want my belly button done and my nose. I am worried about getting my nose done just because I feel like I blow my nose all the time and that would be bad for having a new piercing, plus I am trying to get in shape, so I really can't do anything that will hinder my working out which I am afraid a belly button piercing would do. I am sure It would all be OK as long as I washed it several times a day, I am just not sure I would be able to do that. But I have wanted my nose pierced for a really long time, so I figure if I do get one done that would be the one to do first since it will probably hurt the worst and its a little cheaper than the belly button. Decisions, decisions. My husband has two tattoos, one on his upper right arm and one on his lower left arm. I love the upper right arm one because its a dragon and it really suits him, the lower left is a band symbol and I am not the biggest fan of that one but he says he likes it so whatever floats his boat. He doesn't have any piercings, and I don't know if he is even going to get any, but I hope not, I am not the biggest fan of piercings on guys. No matter what he will have to wait till he is out of the army to do that. I was debating on a possible tongue piercing for myself as well but I would be way too chicken to ever follow through with that one.

I know to each their own but I really hate it when people get tattoos and you ask them what it was for and they say "I just felt like it." If tattoos are suppose to be a form of self expression and what not, shouldn't something that permanent on your body mean something to you? Piercings can be taken out at any time and leave only a small hole, but tattoos are forever, so if you want one I think you should think about it for a good year or two and if you still want it after that time period go ahead and get it. I feel that way about piercings too. I have wanted the tattoos I have in mind for about a year but I have several years before I would actually get any, so I will be sure they are what I really want. The piercings I have wanted since middle school, so I know I want them and won't regret them. Anyways, that's just my little rant on tattoos and piercings. Totally and 100 percent my own opinion, I know everyone's will differ.

First Ever Real Corset!

So as a wedding present from my now mother in law, she offered to buy me any lingerie I wanted, well I have a lot already and I just couldn't find one I loved so I asked if I could have a corset instead, she said yes and I just got it today. I love it so much! Like when I put it on I realize just how bad my posture really is because it forces you to stand up straight and you don't have to wear them super tight, mine is tightened just enough to be comfortable. But seriously, I think every single woman should have one of these amazing pieces of fashion, it really is a lost art. They are beautiful and can be worn as lingerie or a shirt under a jacket. I am just so stoked about having one, you have no idea. I love love it! There is a pic below.

I think it is absolutely gorgeous and mega comfortable, like I already said. We ordered it though This Website and there are a ton to choose from at super great prices. I can tell you I will definitely be ordering more. I couldn't be happier with this purchase. Like I said earlier it totally improves posture, In fact I want to wear it right now just because I can feel my spine straightening and it feels amazing. Women, you should all definitely highly consider purchasing one. You won't be disappointed.

Update on the Shampoo Conditioner

So it does get easier to spread the more I use it and the smell isn't so bad as the initial first time. I guess I just got use to it or something. I am not sure if it is lightening my hair at all, it still all looks the same color, but I will make another check in after the bottles are empty. So far so good.

Shoes Galore!

So if I have not already stated the fact, I am a shoe addict. I LOVE SHOES! Seriously have have way too many pairs and boots are my absolute weakness. My slouchy suede pair is the best ever. I have several pairs of heals and like six different colors of flip flops and four different types of wedges. Its a horrible addiction and you would think that when I got married I would have to give it up but my husband is kinda a shoe addict too, in the way a guy can be. He has so many different pairs of running shoes, granted he is military so that kinda ups his shoe count a bit because of uniform regulations, but anyways as I was saying, instead of telling me I have to get rid of shoes he is buying me a pair. Granted they aren't boots or heels, they are running shoes which I surprisingly enough don't have a good pair of. I was thinking about all the different types of shoes I have and thought about the pros and cons of them so here is what I came up with.

Shape-ups :: According to my husband these shoes are worthless. I don't know if they work or not, I don't feel any muscles working when I wear them and my lower back stings within a half hour of putting them on. Now I think that may be because posture wise they help me stand straighter and I am not use to it and so that is why my back hurts but there is no way for me to be sure. I definitely love mine, don't get me wrong. They are Dr. Scholls brand so they have super comfy gel on my heel.

Running Shoes :: Brooks is the brand my baby is buying me and I am so excited to go pick them up tomorrow. I haven't had a new pair of shoes in a while. These (for the short time I wore them) were super comfy and the woman told me all the benefits that would come with it like less muscle strain and such because they would be supporting my body better. I do remember my ankles hurt a little bit but I was told that would go away the more I wore them.

Converse :: These aren't the best shoes for your body but I absolutely love this brand. Seriously, they are so comfortable! And they come in so many colors and styles. The high tops would have to be my favorite, I have a pair of black high tops that I have owned since freshmen year of high school and they are all beat up but still awesome! I wish I had more money to spend on them because they really are a great shoe.

Heals :: So i have a love hate relationship with heals. The short heals are comfortable but I have two pairs of really high healed shoes that I love but can't wear because of their height. They kill my feet, which saddens me to no end. But I love love love the look of them. They are just so pretty and stylish.

Boots :: Nothing else to say about boots but complete and total love. The end.

Anyways, that's the end of my shoe rant, for now at least I am sure next time I get a new pair of shoes I will also go on another rant. I just love shoes!

Product Review :: Shampoo and Conditioner

So I just bought myself a brand new shampoo and conditioner from a brand that I already love and though I would write about my initial feelings toward the new item. I have only used it once, so I will do an update once I have used the product a couple of more times just in case my initial thoughts and feelings change toward it, or stay the same.

Brand :: John Frieda
Product :: Sheer-Blonde
Review :: Go Blonder Lightening Shampoo :: So this shampoo smelt absolutely amazing, until I started to rinse it off. Then it smelt fairly horrible. Its not an unlivable smell, but I wish it was better. I had to use quite a bit before I felt like it spread well enough through my hair and it didn't really suds all that well. I am the type of person who loves a sudsy shampoo, I just don't feel like its cleaning correctly if it doesn't. This shampoo is suppose to lighten my hair and I have fairly dishwater blonde so we will see if in a couple of weeks it lightens it or not. I do not wash my hair everyday because it is bad to use that much chemical on it. But I try to wash every other day and I always condition.
Review :: Go Blonder Lightening Conditioner :: The conditioner didn't really have a smell at all, and it definitely did not spread. I felt like it clung to the initial place that it touched my scalp and my hands felt weird from it, almost sticky but not. There was no suds in this either and since it did not spread I had to use a good glob in my palm. I let it sit for a couple of minutes and when I rinsed my hair felt smooth, which is nice. I liked the way my hair felt afterwards when it was still wet, although I think some of the strands felt sticky, maybe I didn't rinse well enough. Overall I think its an OK conditioner, not my favorite out of all that I have tried.

Once my hair dried it felt very smooth, which I like. The downside to that is I want to touch my hair a lot and that makes it oily faster. I almost always air dry my hair, it takes forever to blow-dry. But it has been about 24 hours since I used the products and I still like the way my hair feels. Its getting a little oily near the roots, but that may just be me and not the fault of the product. I am hoping that it will lighten my hair that way I don't have to pay for a dye job. Anyways, like I said, the initial smell was amazing, then not so great with the rinsing. And it didn't spread well. I will update after I use the product a couple of more times but as of right now I would have to give it three stars.

A Daily Beauty Regime?

Yes that's right a new schedule for me to follow to keep myself looking as beautiful as I possibly can. I think it should start with a warm cup of lemon tea right after I wake up in the morning, followed by working out, then a shower and my nails really need to be redone, maybe a deep red OPI color. Home manicure and Pedicure for sure, maybe a soak in a nice hot bathtub to loosen the muscles and a good scrubbing of my teeth. Yeah that's all I got for now... I can think of something better I just need time and I can have a little bit of fun using MS Word to print out an amazing and wonderful schedule that will be easy to follow. I read somewhere that it takes doing something for three day straight to from a habit, lets test that theory shall we?

How do I feel about what women do to stay beautiful? Why I am so glad you asked. Tanning on occasion can be beneficial because it releases happy chemicals in the body but the women who look like toast or caramel, yeah you are all tanning way too often and it looks fake on your bleach blonde hair. If its natural, its one thing, but if its intentional its just wrong. I prefer the Chinese standards of white porcelain skin is beautiful. That's not to say if your naturally dark skinned you aren't beautiful, i am talking for me personally. Waxing would be my best friend if I could afford to keep up with it. I hate shaving because I always cut myself. Tattoos and piercings are fine and dandy as long as they are tasteful as well as meaningful. Died hair is fine, I have died my hair about every natural looking color and like my natural on me best, but the red looked good as well. Um, I don't really know what other women do to stay beautiful. I believe that beauty comes from the soul but if you put the extra effort in to taking care of yourself people will appreciate you more and treat you better because that's just how society is, look the part you want to play and that's how people are going to treat you. Lately I have not been looking the part I want to play but I am definitely going to work on fixing that... as soon as I am no longer sick because really when your sick or dealing with death that's the only excuse you have to let yourself go.

The Obsession Begins

Hey,

My name is Tamizan and I am quite obsessed with beauty products and fashion. I could look at clothing for hours and spend days reading beauty tips. OPI Nail Polish is one obsession I am adamant about. I have over thirty different bottles of polish and I am getting more all the time. Boots are my other obsession. I love boots! Well, boots, leather jackets and lingerie. This blog is where I can rant and rave about the products I love or if I find an amazing outfit somewhere put it here and drool over it. Its a blog for my own personal amusement.
